Patients referred by private clinics for specialist care to Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) can now submit their appointment requests online.
Under the new virtual system, patients referred by private clinics no longer have to go to an HMC facility with their paper referral.
“Implementing this system puts our patients at the heart of care. At HMC, we are always thinking of ways to improve not only the services but also the experience of our patients,” said Mr. Nasser Al Naimi, HMC Deputy Head of Quality for the Center for Patient Experience and the commitment of the staff and Director of Hamad Healthcare Quality Institute.
“This initiative has done just that, finding ways to make it more convenient for patients to submit their appointment referral online without setting foot in HMC.
Patients can now submit and upload their referral online to get an appointment. To access the appointment referral site, patients can scan the QR code or visit www.hamad.qa, “contact us” section.
When accessing the online referral site, patients will be asked to provide their health card number and download the referral form. Once this process is complete, patients will receive a confirmation message that their referral has been received and is being processed.
After a few days, patients will receive a call from Nesma’ak to arrange an appointment date and time. Patients can track their appointment by calling Nesma’ak on 16060
