The Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) in the nation’s capital on Friday extended the deadline for submitting online application forms for all postgraduate and postgraduate courses until May 25.
The application deadline has been extended for all JMI programs such as postgraduate, undergraduate, postgraduate diploma, advanced diploma and diploma programs except for the doctoral program.
Previously, May 13 was the deadline for submitting admission forms. The university said this was done because the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) application deadline had been extended to May 22.
According to a notification issued by Jamia, in view of the extension of the last date of the CUET admission form, the Vice Chancellor, JMI has very kindly approved the extension of the last date of filling in the online application form for all Jamia programs like PG/UG/PG Diploma/Advanced Diploma/Diploma Programs and Foreign Nationals/NRIs except Doctoral Programs for the 2022-2023 academic session from 13.05.2022 to 25.05.2022.
“Candidates who have applied for JMI programs under CUET are also required to complete the JMI registration form on the University Examinations website until 25.05.2022,” the notification reads.
The university had earlier announced that admission to 10 courses would be through CUET. Last month, JMI released its admission prospectus and said online admission forms were available from April 14.
Jamia Millia is also likely to postpone entrance tests for admission to its undergraduate and postgraduate programs as their dates overlap with CBSE Class 12 board exams.
The revised schedule is expected to be released shortly. According to the schedule, entrance tests for courses not covered by CUET were to be carried out by the institution from June 2.
