BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (BRPROUD) – The coronavirus continues to force change on local businesses and government organizations in our area.
The Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles is no different as they adapt due to COVID-19.
A change begins Thursday and involves the ability to book appointments online for some residents of the state.
The Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles issued this statement:
In an effort to increase efficiency and precautions related to the COVID-19 response, Louisiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles Commissioner Karen St. Germain has announced the availability of online appointment scheduling in seven OMV sites across the state.
These OMV offices in Louisiana will start the meeting alone services from Thursday July 16:
- Breaux Bridge
- Marksville (Tuesday-Thursday only)
- Monroe West
Below are the instructions for making an appointment with the OMV:
Customers can schedule their appointment by selecting the “Make an appointmentâIcon located at www.expresslane.org. Customers will then be prompted to enter the required information before finalizing their appointment.
The OMV encourages social distancing in their offices and stresses that masks are mandatory at all OMV locations in Louisiana, unless you have breathing problems or are two years old or younger, according to LDH.
