NSFAS will open Quarter 2 online application tomorrow

NSFAS News Today – Tomorrow, the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) will open applications for TVET College students interested in studying in Term 2. They will then close on August 19, giving students just over a week to apply.

This application period is for those who wish to study at one of the 55 public TVET colleges in South Africa in Term 2.

Students should apply online or through TVET college scholarship offices, according to the NSFAS. Students can apply as follows:

  • Platform for walk-in online applications (super user)
  • Students register their application in a college computer lab.
  • Platform for assisted capture applications

The request will then be entered on behalf of the student by a TVET official. Students must submit the following supporting documents when applying:

  • Copy of student’s South African birth certificate / copy of ID / temporary ID
  • a copy of the African birth certificate of the parent(s)/guardian/southern spouse/a copy of their identity document/a temporary identity document
  • Proof of income (if applicable) – student/parent(s)/guardian(s) or spouse (must be less than 3 months old).
  • SASSA recipients do not need to provide proof of income.

Students who have been listed as a “vulnerable child” will also be required to submit a vulnerable child declaration form from a social worker.

If the applicant lives with a disability, then they will need to submit a disability Schedule A form, along with the rest of the required documents.

To track their applications, students should go to the NSFAS website. Those who applied to NSFAS during the walk-in application period are exempt from completing the NSFAS System Access Form. All they have to do is send an e-mail to [email protected] for his account to be reactivated.
