On Friday, May 13, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) issued a notification regarding the extension of the deadline for online submission of applications for all graduate and postgraduate courses. The new deadline is May 25. Initially, the deadline for sending applications was May 13.

With the exception of doctoral programs, the extension of the deadline applies to all other JMI programs, namely postgraduate, undergraduate, postgraduate diploma, advanced diploma and diploma programs. The university mentioned that this extension is due to the Common Universities Entrance Test (CUET) application deadline being extended to May 22, as noted in a report in PTI.

The notification stated, “In view of the extension of the last date for the CUET admission form, the Vice Chancellor, JMI has very kindly approved the extension of the last date for completing online application forms for all Jamia programs. such as PG / UG / PG Degree Programs / Advanced Diploma / Diploma and Services for Foreign Nationals / NRIs, except Doctoral Programs for the 2022-2023 academic session from 13.05.2022 to 25.05.2022.

Further, he added, “Applicants who have applied for JMI programs under CUET are also required to complete the JMI registration form on the University Examinations website by 25.05.2022.” Earlier, Jamia also mentioned that ten course admission will be handled by CUET.

Although it has published its admission prospectus and stated that online admission forms are available from April 14, it may postpone entrance tests for admissions due to conflicting exam dates with CBSE Board exams. It is expected to publish its revised schedule shortly. “We have decided to extend the dates of the entrance exams because the Class XII exams are in progress and they overlap with the entrance exams. The deadline for submitting applications will also be extended from May 12 to May 25” , Registrar Nazim Hussain Jafri said. According to the schedule, entrance tests for courses not covered by CUET were to be carried out by the institution from June 2.
