On July 22, 2021, the Council of Europe project Combating violence against children in the Republic of Moldova, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Moldova, was launched Hosted an online event to view the Psychological Assessment and Writing Methodology Project. the report on the psychological assessment in cases of violence, neglect, exploitation and trafficking in children and the draft guideline for the practical application of the mechanism of intersectoral cooperation for the identification, assessment, guidance, assistance and monitoring of child victims and potential victims of violence, neglect, exploitation and trafficking approved by government decision no. 270/2014.
The event brought together all relevant stakeholders and partners and professionals working with children, including representatives of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, Ministry of the Interior, representatives of international organizations, civil society and the project team.
The online consultation event aimed to present the key objectives, structure and main aspects of the two documents and discuss comments and suggestions from all relevant stakeholders and partners on the basis of which both documents will be improved.
In his welcome address, William Massolin, the head of the Council of Europe Office in Chisinau underlined that âboth documents are important and necessary not only because the corresponding provisions are incorporated in government decision 270/2014, but also because of the need to facilitate cooperation within the local intersectoral mechanism â.
Vasile CuÈca, State Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection said: âThis public consultation event is very important from the point of view of the debate on two draft documents needed in the field of protection from childhood. At the end of the discussions, they will be improved and validated by joint interministerial decree â.
Both documents were prepared by the Council of Europe project on combating violence against children in the Republic of Moldova, at the official request of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection.
The activity is part of one of the intermediate results of project 2 “Harmonized legal and policy framework in accordance with Council of Europe standards on sexual exploitation and sexual abuse of children and children’s rights in the digital environment / best interests of the childâ.
