A new online form is now available for members of the public who want to help protect the local environment and island water bodies by reporting potential storm water issues along a trunk road in the Maui County.

Provided by the State of Hawaii, Department of Transportation Highways Division – Maui District, the new “Storm water hotline” the form is available on www.stormwater and is part of the District of Maui’s ongoing efforts to keep pollutants from flowing into storm drains along state highways and into the ocean and other sensitive water bodies, according to A press release.

The Stormwater Hotline page also provides descriptions of potential problems, including illegal discharges and illegal connections, and examples of what to report, such as oil spills, runoff with a distinct color or odor and illegal dumping of waste.
