Online appointments will soon be offered at the Sarpy County DMV office.
The Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles announced that the new system for its Bellevue office will also be adopted across Omaha and Lincoln.
The reservation system is being tested at the Omaha Metro West DMV at 17007 Burt St. in Omaha. It will expand to the Omaha Metro South office at 4502 Maass Road in Bellevue and the Omaha Metro North office at 4606 N. 56th St. in Omaha in July, when it will also be adopted in Lincoln.
Customers can go to dmv.nebraska.gov to book an appointment and specify the services they need. Limited on-site appointments will still be offered, but may not be available for same-day service.
“This new appointment system will improve the customer experience in the Omaha, Bellevue and Lincoln areas,” Rhonda Lahm, Nebraska DMV director, said in a press release. “The new system will save customers time and our services will be more efficient and better suited to the needs of each customer.”

Services that can be performed at a driver’s license office include initial applications, written and driving tests, and renewals for licenses, driver’s licenses and business licenses, and state ID cards.
Required papers and documents will still be needed for appointments. Information about booking appointments online will be provided with mailed renewal notices.
“This new system is just one of the many ways we are expanding our services and making a quick and easy trip to the DMV for Nebraskans,” Lahm said.
