THE Social Security System (SSS) announces the improvement of the online application for a social security number (SS), which now offers the download of supporting documents also via the Internet. âInstead of visiting our branches, members can now download supporting documents online, such as a copy of their Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) birth certificate, marriage contract if they are married or a baptismal certificate if they have children. They do not have to submit the supporting documents through the filing system to make the status of their request for a permanent SS number, âsaid Aurora Ignacio, President and CEO of SSS, noting that uploading the basic supporting documents was required to obtain permanent status of their issued SS number and apply for SSS benefits and privileges.
This process serves a dual purpose for requesting an SS number and registering My.SSS. Upon receipt of the email for a successful SS number online request, the requester will also receive another email containing the credentials of a My.SSS account for activation within thirty calendar days.
