Haj 2022: The selection process for Haj pilgrims will be based on full vaccination with both doses, guidelines and criteria to be decided by the Indian and Saudi governments, the Union Minister for Affairs said on Friday of the Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi minorities.
While chairing the Haj review meeting in New Delhi, Naqvi said that the digital health card, health facility “E-MASIHA” and “electronic baggage pre-labeling”, providing all information regarding accommodation / transportation in Mecca-Madinah, will be provided to all Haj pilgrims.
He further said preparations for Haj 2022 began with Saudi Arabia and India’s Covid protocol in mind. âThe official announcement of the Haj 2022 will be made during the first week of November and alongside this the online application process for the Haj will also be launched,â he said.
The entire Haj 2022 process in India will be 100% digital. India sends the second largest number of Haj pilgrims after Indonesia.
The minister said that arrangements for special training for Haj 2022 regarding corona protocols and health and hygiene are being made in India and Saudi Arabia for Haj pilgrims. National-international protocol guidelines due to the pandemic position will be implemented and strictly followed during Haj 2022.
Naqvi said that the entire Haj 2022 process will take place in accordance with the necessary guidelines that will be issued by the government of Saudi Arabia and the government of India in view of the Corona pandemic to ensure health and the welfare of the people in India and Saudi Arabia.
The Haj 2022 process is being defined after deliberations between the Ministry of Minority Affairs, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of External Affairs, the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the Haj Committee of India, the Embassy of India in Saudi Arabia and the Consul General of India in Jeddah and other agencies that remain to see all aspects of the challenges of the pandemic.
Arrangements for Haj 2022 are made under special circumstances with special Saudi Arabia standards, rules and regulations, eligibility criteria, age restrictions, health and fitness requirements and other relevant conditions.
He said the entire travel process for Haj 2022 is unfolding with significant and important changes given the pandemic and its effects. These include accommodation, period of stay of pilgrims, transportation, health and other facilities in both India and Saudi Arabia.
Naqvi said more than 3,000 women applied for the 2020 and 2021 Haj without a âMehramâ (male companion) category. Their applications will also be eligible for Haj 2022 if they wish to go for Haj 2022.
Other women can also apply for the Haj 2022 without a “Mehram” category. All women without a “Mehram” category will be exempt from the lottery system.
